A Sweden visa is required for nationals of many non-European countries. Nationals of EU member states and several other countries like the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore do not need a Schengen visa to enter Sweden. They only need a valid passport or (for EU citizens) a European identification card.
Check the list here for countries whose citizens require a visa.
Participants of the summer school are kindly requested to familiarize themselves with visa requirements well in advance of the event.
If your nationality requires a (Schengen or) Sweden visa, please contact the Swedish consulate or embassy in your country. Don’t wait too long with it. The present worldwide security regulations result in generally more stringent visa requirements and associated visa processing time.
The organizers of the summer school cannot intervene with Embassies abroad on behalf of any participant. However, if you need a personal letter of invitation to attend the conference, please contact the organizers of the summer school and provide the following information:
– Full name
– Complete mailing address (including phone and fax numbers)
– Passport Number / Country issued
– Date of birth
Please request it well in advance of when you expect to need it.
